Hi
I was looking advice on this. Recieved a letter from this agency, stating I owe £285 to Unicom Telecom Ltd. which I never known.
Two other things worth mention here.
I. Its first letter I recieved but they mentioned that they have made many attempts to contact me and now taking to the court.(which is not true - this is the first letter).
II. Secondly; my name on the letter is not correct. Only surname is correct.
plz advise what to do. I never know these companies.
Thanks

Do you owe the money? If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

You could also ask Unicom Telecom Ltd the same question.

See the 6th post in this thread: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1359565 for a 'prove it' letter template.0

As above, send them a letter asking them to prove the debt belongs to you.
I wouldnt worry too much. Often debt collectors "go fishing". Anyone that has details similar to the debtors will be sent a letter in hopes that one of them is the correct one.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0
