Universal Debt Collection Agency

Hi

I was looking advice on this. Recieved a letter from this agency, stating I owe £285 to Unicom Telecom Ltd. which I never known.

Two other things worth mention here.

I. Its first letter I recieved but they mentioned that they have made many attempts to contact me and now taking to the court.(which is not true - this is the first letter).

II. Secondly; my name on the letter is not correct. Only surname is correct.

plz advise what to do. I never know these companies.

Thanks

    Do you owe the money?
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Why not ask the debt collectors for proof that you owe the money?

You could also ask Unicom Telecom Ltd the same question.
    Unicom contact details are here.

As above, send them a letter asking them to prove the debt belongs to you.

I wouldnt worry too much. Often debt collectors "go fishing". Anyone that has details similar to the debtors will be sent a letter in hopes that one of them is the correct one.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
