Thanks, that's put my mind at rest! Shame about the modem, but at least we don't have to fiddle about with the innards of the PC. :)

Any other posters think that the Dual Core (Recommended for Vista) is worth the £23.50 upgrade??

Yes, it's worth getting... the mobo should be better also as designed to use the dual core. at least won't have to upgrade when dual core becomes standard.

  • Hi,
I'm not sure if this is relevant to you but i'm also on the lookout for a new computer, i found one i was about to buy but then did lots of searches on other forums etc and found that the place i was going to buy it from had a very bad reputation. I'm a bit stuck now, It's ok to know what specs you need but when it comes to a reputable company who knows???
    Has anyone got any ideas?

    I've seen this...

...from another thread, can anyone tell me if it will meet her requirements? If not what should she be looking for? Had a look at the on site reviews in the link and it says that it doesn't come with 'Microsoft Works' does that mean it won't have Word etc?

    Thanks for any input :)

    Hi Tigs,

I don't know if helps or not or if you have been swayed to something else by now but I bought this same PC last week except I got mine from Comet who charge £299.99 for it and you can opt for free delivery. You will see from the link they also do it as a bundle with a 15.4" widescreen TFT screen which might be a bit smaller than you are looking for or not but you could get the package for under £400.
