I would also as one of the things with ME is you don't know how you are going to be at any given moment. If you are saying you are bad enough not to work then no way you can commit to regular exercise no matter how much you may spend the rest of the week resting, you are just not going to be ok on the same day every week - gosh I wish it was so, I spend the time feeling I have the word unreliable in big flashing letters over my head.
Well I took another two Oxynorm ( making 6 today on top of my 20mg Oxycontin) as was getting so achy and tired and even now just 90 mins after taking them they are wearing off, but I managed to get a couple of meals into the slow cookers. Chicken soup and veg in one and Brisket and different veg in the other. Soup and the chicken for mail prt of meal for tomorrow and soup with some brisket on Wednesday and might be enough for soup with brisket, not sure what I will do with it, maybe put it in a pie for Thursday.
Wanted to get it on as we have a yellow alert for storm from tonight till Friday so at least that will be cooked if power goes off. Chicken of course is defrosted but everything else was straight out the freezer and into the pots, so putting it on this early will mean they are all cooked by tomorrow when we want them. Also means if payback hits I don't have to worry about anything except potatoes and they will be tinned.
Right I am going to snuggle down, have set the wake up light alarm clock for 8.15am so lets see if it helps me wake up and stay awake.
Night night everyone. Stay safe if the storms hit you

Not sure if this will help anyone but I've started keeping 2 shopping lists:
List 1 - everyday items for the weekly shop. Stuff is noted as needed & I also put on quickly used items as soon as I open the last packet/box.
List 2 - items that last a long time / don't need replaced straight away eg cornflour, lentils (I buy these in huge bags so last ages), washing stuff, olive oil etc.
Great idea, when out yesterday I actually came across in charity shop two notepads that were on cardboard which had the magnetised strip at back to put on fridge, as my last note pad is finished. I am going to do that - the two lists.
Hope everyone is safe and warm today - son told me they are gritting the motorways not far from me and roads in the city, but doubt they will do our road, we are on edge of city and on a main road which is one of the routes into city but hardly ever seen gritters out this far yet when it is colder is worse here as we have fields and a country park just round the corner so very open.
I eventually woke up at 2pm. Totally forgot I had an appointment with Councillor at 2.30pm as forgot to mobile on charge and it had the alarm on it with appointment ( its my memory) and didn't notice till I went to use it to send a text and noticed it, by then was 3.30pm so as its second time i have missed her I doubt I will get another appointment, did explain how I can so easily forget things or am to bad to go - its to try and stop the bad depression hitting me in March, she was very annoyed when first time I had to phone to cancel a few hours before told me I should try and make myself get to appointments.
I actually had a bit of energy for about 30 mins earlier so managed to get kitchen sides tidied as stuff had been dumped on them rather than been put away past week.
We had the brisket I cooked in sc overnight with carrots, swede, mushrooms, cauliflower and broccilli and a few potatoes - all frozen so no peeling and meat was enough for two meals so rest in in freezer. Was going to have the chicken I also had cooking for tomorrow but hubby has asked for lamb tomorrow so chicken will be put in freezer and I have taken two lamb steaks out and in fridge to defrost.
Energy went almost as quickly as it came so sitting on bed trying to knit but pain in hands so bad it has me in tears but want to get hat knitted for oldest granddaughter for Christmas and not much time left, been knitting it past few weeks and still only done about 10 rows. When hand pain doesn't come I can knit a hat in a day so its so frustrating. I also want to make some new cushion covers for living room, friend went to town other week and kindly picked me up material but at moment feel to unsure to even cut it never mind get sewing machine out.
I got woken up by alarm clock from Lidl but just switched it off, no light, I didn't check it and wasn't till just before I unscrewed shade and found the light bulb was all wrapped up and not in place, took wrapping off and put it in and it works so will see tomorrow if it works and if the light wakes me up properly rather than me just listening to it for a bit while I gather the strength and face the pain to switch it off - it does have a remote but eyes never work properly first thing so until I know where the correct button is to shut it off I cannot use it.
I am so tired just want to go to sleep again, but that is what I hate sleeping more than being awake and what kicks off the depression and then I get so little done in the house.
Stay safe and warm everyone

Afternoon everyone, hope its as sunny where you are as it is here, the snow we had Friday that stayed till yesterday has completely gone now.
This week I have been out more than I have in a long time and its mentally doing me a lot of good. Also managed to cook from scratch every night except last night. It most likely would not be considered OS as I admit to using frozen veg and bought stock cubes ( I knew awful isn't it) but rest of food was totally HM.
Friday I had the energy for a baking blitz - well a blitz for me. Made 60 Mincemeat Melts as I call them, can never remember the name on the recipe, plus 2 dozen plain scones and a cake made with yogart and oil which is made in BM - did try it earlier in the week but found the BM did not mix the ingrediants properly so wasted. This time I put them all in a bowl mixed them all then put it in BM and came out nice and when it was cool I covered it in cream icing. I am not a fan of mince pies - to much pastry for me, but these Mincemeat Melts I love so told hubby might just buy a few boxes of mince pies to keep him happy but will make more melts.
I have managed to keep kitchen clean but not done anything else in house well apart from putting washing away.
Yesterday we went to a yarn shop - Oh did I have fun, I love feeling yarn and spent a happy hour touching and feeling all different types so I know what they are like if I want some more and order on-line, as usually its far cheaper to do so, but yarn shop had a half price sale on and I spent £69. I had kept aside £40 to spend there, but before I left I raided my sealed pot and took another £40 from it, and boy am I glad I did. I couldn't spend the whole £80 sadly as forgot we needed milk and a few other bits but still am happy with my purchases. One of the main reasons I went was DGD12 wants Bella's Mitts from Twilight and she wanted them in the same colour. Cannot get exact same as the yarn was dyed especially for the film but managed to get some that is almost the same colour - she put the film on when we came home and compared and was very happy with my choice, so now have to try and knit them in the next week.
I am lucky at moment as going through a good phase for me, and pacing myself well so getting lots done. Still spend about 80% of the day propped up here on the bed but at least been able to knit and if I can do anything at all apart from reading on the forum and being on-line I call that a good day.
I have to go shopping at least once this coming week for last minute bits for Christmas Day and Boxing Day but have to pace and rest as on Christmas Eve we have tickets to go and see 'Its a Wonderful Life' on big screen' and am very excited as love that film. I went mad and suggested to hubby if we can go for a meal afterwards so we have booked and paid the deposit and went even further and asked daughter if we can take DGD12 and son if we can take DGS6 with us and they agreed as we have booked the table for 6pm so now waiting to see if the restaurant can fit in the children. So going to be a full day for me, but at least Christmas Day its just going to be hubby and me, with son popping over with his two sometime during the day before he goes to his MILs for dinner ( she is on her own and likes them round, daughter is only child).
Oh a bird has started singing just outside my window, must be sitting on the guttering as can hear it clearly over the cars going past, how lovely singing and enjoying this glorious sunshine, although very cold out there.
Right going to make myself a cup of tea and do some knitting, done part of the cuff of one of the mitts so far, so long way to go.
Hugs to you allNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Hi prepareathome, could you give me the recipe for the mincemeat melts please (I don't like pastry much either).
We had another overnight fall of snow here. Looks lovely through the window with the snow glistening on it.... But I am staying put with the heating on!I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -
Hi all, PAH glad the shopping lists may help - I'd be lost now without them!
Been freezing here the last couple of days - started to make some soup yesterday and had to go for a sleep in the middle
honestly, it's so frustrating sometimes....
Have a review appt with the Rheumatologist tomorrow ... not holding out much hope as the last time they just said "yup, you've got xxx & yyy - keep taking the painkillers":(
Hoping they can suggest something as having loads of trouble with my hands atm - I keep dropping things
. Have managed to break 2 cups, drop a pan with pasta & boiling water & smash my new flask (used twice) in the past week......
Now ... really must try to do something - bed still to be changed and haven't hoovered for a fortnight:o (think that may have to wait another day or so) and have a ton of ironing to do as well.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!0 -
agggggggg started knitting the mitts again and realised I had not down the cables correctly, even though last night checked and checked I did not see the glaringly obvious mistakes so have had to rip them out and start again and now am making one mistake after another, I hate it when physically not to bad but mentally cannot concentrate, even though I think I am grrrrrrrrrrrrrrNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

I love the idea of two shopping lists IN the kitchen...by the time I've got to my notebook Ialays forget something.0

This is my shopping list https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B6o2f0s-wW_uOTFmMGNjYzUtMzQ1Zi00NjIwLTllYjktYmZlNTc0MTczOWZh
I hope that works.
It took me a while to put together, but now all I have to do is print it off and tick what I need to get. I just carry it around and check each cupboard etc, if it's getting low I tick it, then I can open up Tesco.com and buy what I need. I adjust the prices and if something is much cheaper at Aldi, I'll make a note to wait till we can get there and I'll get it then.+++ Divide By Cucumber Error. Hi, I have fibro personally and my mum has MS, so I see things from both sides if you know what I mean. I'm lucky in that my fibro itself doesn't give me too much pain (although a motorcycle accident has left me with a dodgy hip and knee, I look like a weeble wobble walking sometimes as it's left knee and right hip). With me it's the brainfog that gets me, and the exhaustion. OH is always astounded when I can sleep, and sleep, and sleep. And still be tired in the morning. He doesn't really understand the extent of what's wrong with me, although I think he is starting to understand a little as he noticed I was slurring my speech the other night.
I think having lists is a great thing, even if you put things you've already done down - like 'get out of bed' just so you can cross them up. I'm having a bit of an episode at the moment so I've split my lists into 'must do' which normally only has one or two things on it and 'would be nice if i..' which normally is about two pages long
Sometimes I think we pile so much pressure on ourselves to be 'normal'...I'm starting to learn that this is my normal now, and it's taking a great deal of adjustment to get used to that x
Our greatest weakness lies in giving up; always try just one more time0 -
MM, you're so right about making lists of things done, writing every little thing on here really helps - one day getting up and dressed were the sum total of my achievements but it made me feel I'd managed something which I might not have done if I'd had nobody to tell!:D
I wake up feeling like I'm coming out of a general anaesthetic that's gone wrong most days. I lie there and feel like I'm paralysed and can't make even the smallest movement - I imagine moving a finger and it feels like it would require superhuman effort just to do that! Apparently it has a name, "leaden paralysis", which made me feel better
As for brain fog, yikes! It's actually frightening to stand and look at an everyday object and try desperately to remember what it's called!:( 0
