There's a girl at work atm who has just got her voice back-ish, but its this really strange squeaky thing.... when she talks she sounds like a mouse being stepped on

pap it's' quite easy to registe as self employed. You just need to phone your local tax office and they will take details. If they say you have to pay additional NI then speak to them because if your earnings are likely to be low you can get an exemption certificate. It just means that you have to do self assessment each year which looks worse than it is.
Basically just keep evidence of everything and depending on what it is you may be able to use it to reduce your tax bill.0 -
