DON'T Put him on Bakers if he's hyper now he would be bouncing off the walls after?!?!
Yup ........
Poor wee mite ... so glad he's found his forever home now. Puppy classes sound good and glad to hear he's socialising with other dogs (and cats by the pics on your other thread) so well!:DGrocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Weaning him onto the new food is great but I would go a little slower. Hills isn't the best but isn't the worst so no harm in keeping him on it for a few more weeks to let him settle, changing foods too frequently can upset the tum just as much as foods that don't agree with him. Once you start the change it'd do it 80:20, 70:30, etc., small changes and if his tum gets upset go back a step and wean him a bit more slowly.0

I second this. Bakers used to give my Mam's dog terrible runs. My dog isn't exactly good with it either. This is if you need any more ideas regarding which food.
As my hound has a sensitive stomach, the vet suggested Chappie as a good food to give if his stomach is upset - apparently it is the equivalent of Royal Canin sensitive. Also we give ours Wainwrights, Natures Diet and Natures Harvest trays (although we avoid buying from PAH for the last 2 because they keep putting the prices up) PAH also do some Hearty Menu pouches that is their own brand that my dog has for breakfast that the vet said was good. We also got told to put bran in his feed too to help clear his anal glands.
We were advised avoid Caesers too, as this is full of rich oil and fat.BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

I'm reading a book at the moment about dog behaviour and training called When Pigs Fly - Training Success With impossible Dogs by Jane Killion. It's not an easy read but is highly acclaimed.0

I would suggest enrolling him into your local training class, possibly a Good Citizen one if there is one near (the Kennel Club lists where they are). It will cover all you need to know about teaching him to be a sociable, happy well-behaved dog, and if he and you like the obedience discipline then you can use it as a foundation to go on to do other dog activities such as flyball, competitive obedience, agility, etc.0

our local vets does a free puppy class each week so definately check about to see whats in your area.

 Thanks everyone
He hasn't been great today , but we have had a busy day putting the Xmas decs up and having uncle and his girlfriend round too. A lot of his trouble is he gets over tired but once we put him in the run of the hall dinning room and and kitchen (open plan) he will lay and go to sleep and chill out. xNanMias - cyber granddaughter!

I think you may have a few busier days chasing after Charlie with the christmas tree toysI don't dare put my tree up this year as I have two naughty pups that chew everything and run off with anything they get hold of. I've had to settle with a fibre optic tree up out of their reach. Little monkeys

So far he has not been too bad (touch wood) the tree is sitting up on a 2.5 foot tall coffee table. He has managed to nick a bit of tinsel from the bottom though! The big decs are on the ceiling and there are icicle lights hanging off the mantel peice but he does however love to chew and try to run off with the fairy lights cables! We will be rubbing orange skin on them soon!NanMias - cyber granddaughter!

No. Do it now before you find an electrocuted pup or the house burns down!0
