Retrospective legal insurance

Hi
I am in a pickle and worried sick - I have always had legal expense insurance but stupidly this year removed it in an effort to save £15
I now have a dispute with my flat (after having exchanged) and this would have been covered under legal expense insurance had I included this
I have been asking solicitors for their help and they have come back saying that I need to budget £10,000 for legal costs
Is anyone able to say whether you can get legal expense insurance back dated? I know its a long shot but I have no other ideas
I have checked my house insurance and car insurance and its not on that and I have no other insurance - I am also self employed!!

Insurance is take out to cover for unforeseen and unknown events. As this is now a known event you cannot now take out insurance to cover it.0

May be worth checking any other potential sources of cover, for example if you are in a union or if you have a "bundle" bank account.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

Whilst most insurance has to be bought before the incident there is a small amount of insurance that can be bought after the incident which is what Solicitors who do No Win, No Fee work buy to cover costs if they dont win.
Unfortunately you are unlikely to find any insurance you can buy yourself at this stage. When did you cancel the LE cover and when did the issue occur that is causing the possible claim?
Have you spoken to a no win, no fee solicitor? Normally LE cover policies require a "reasonable chance of success" which would be the same that a conditional funding solicitor would look for, if you do get one to take it on then they are the ones that can buy the insurance to cover possibly losing the case.0
