Hi
I want to get an in car DVD player for my daughter but as she hasn't got a DVD player in her room I wanted it to double up for use in there aswell, is this possible?
She has a tv in her room so wouldn't be watching the small screen I would want it playing on the tv.
Thanks

The most obvious issue that I can see is that cars have 12v DC electrics and houses have 240v AC mains. It's not my fault your honour, they made me do it.0

what kind of incar DVD player are you looking at?
you can get portable DVD players that you can hook up to a normal TV but a DVD player designed for a car would be 12v rather than 240v, so if you plugged it into the mains you'd have toast.0 -
I have a poertable dvd player with a 5" screen that came with a 'laptop' type mains adapter and a lead to connect to a regular TV (the red/yellow/white connections) which has worked fine on the odd occasion I've needed to use it this way.0

If it has AV out and you have the cable then yes it will work. As for powering it, may need to buy a suitable power supply adapter. Find out what the Voltage is and how many amps. Or buy a Mains AC to 12v cigarette socket adapter power supply, which will allow you to use in car tems in your own home.Mansion TV. Avoid at all cost's :j0

what budget are you looking at? depending on your budget you could get a proper in car DVD head unit and a cheap DVD for her room.0

Don't want to spend too much, just seen this one on Currys
LOGIK L9SPDVD11 Portable DVD Player

Would that work?0 -
can't tell if you can run that on a TV. Normally they'll come with the cables but that doesn't; you can't see the ports on the side either to see if they have video out.0

Looking at the specs, would have to say NO this has no AV out.
Could try
