Just finished stowing the whoopsies away. Nearly time for bed, but had to tell you we got trouted by a butcher in T's.:eek:
Ducks on the reduced to clear section, with a sell by date of 21.12.11, today. Thought great, reductions, but still full price. So queried it with bod with reduction gizmo, who went to ask someone else. Explained about sell by date 21st, and use by date of 23rd. He said no, sell by 23rd. We argued and pointed out the dates again. He disappeared out the back, with a duck, and then out came the butcher, complete with apron, hat and the duck. We went all through it again, whereupon he showed us the duck with the 23rd date still as use by, but they had used a black pen to cover up the sell by date:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:. Lots of muttering from others round the reduced section who had picked up the remaining ducks, and could see that the sell by date had been covered over on the one he was holding. I told him I was sure that was not legal. He just shrugged and looked a bit uncomfortable. I told him I would be contacting Trading Standards tomorrow, and he walked away, taking the duck with him!
What pees me off is that they only had to say, sorry we aren't reducing them yet, instead of trying to pull a fast one! :mad:

PS I'm going to Asda tomorrow for a £5 duck. Mr T can poke his ducks where the sun don't shine!!!!

Seriously I would love to know how he got on, and I would love the landscape guy (andy?) to get the recognition for being a star and for teaching the whole village (and some professionals) how to treat another human.
