Oh I don't doubt that for 1 minute, but as for the OEP being pulled because of this forum?? I think if that was the case it would have been pulled within an hour of the first posting :)

I work in IT, and I would not only have lost my job but would be unable to get another comparable one if I'd not only let this glitch happen, but made it even worse when trying to fix it! Lots of things really don't add up about Tesco glitches, and why its nearly always Tesco it happens to.

    1) Any manager not aware of a MASSIVE increase in sales of a certain item, nor a massive decrease in the average price paid per item, should not be a store manager. Also, aren't they on performance related bonuses? If so they are shafting themselves, unless these glitches don't count for some reason?

    2) The individual stores don't usually remove the products, yet on some glitches the staff are there immediately moving stock off the shelves to stop you buying it. Makes me think the real mistakes are the ones they pull, like the 80% discount on the professional knives last year, and the OEP one was not so accidental.

3)I often hear that head office can't update the computers til x o'clock, yet no systems shut down for this to happen. The tills don't stop working, everything carries on as normal, so the operational ability of the shop is not linked to the update. Therefore it can happen at any time, they can fix the glitches whenever they want. The main issue would be pushing new prices out before SELs are ready, therefore leaving a few DTD issues, but these would cost less than the glitch in most cases.
Plus if the system was designed not to allow small updates like a single price change, then they failed to specify a proper system. This is actually more likely than you'd think, most IT projects fail because the customer doesn't know exactly how they want something to work, and the developers have to meet the criteria set regardless of how wrong it seems. You should always have a technical person from both sides present when setting functionality criteria.

4)Head office will be here, on HUKD and anywhere else they can think of. They know what we are doing, and they allow it to happen. I can't help thinking that, overall, what we take from them is less than the additional business they get from glitchers? People on here are more savvy, and are out to get things for free, but others I have told have just thought 'Oh, free mexican food' and bought a few items along with their weekly shop. If they weren't going to Tesco originally, then Tesco are making some extra profit and more importantly getting in a new customer who may return.

I'm going to stop now, but you can see it all seems a bit wrong? But it also went on longer than I thought I need a bacon sammich! Possibly a fry up in a tortilla :D

Oh, and that cake earlier rocked!

Could someone explain the glitch in a bit more detail or have they fixed it?

    Thanks in advance

I dont think it is working anymore but the dinner kits were never going through as 3 for 2 but were going through as cadbury 3 for £1.20.
Its all the other OEP bits, salsa, tortillas, tacos etc which were 3 for 2 and it was taking this and the cadbury discount off, leaving a minus.
  • Can anyone confirm is it the shorter or the taller Andrex packs that glitch works on
september wins - toshiba laptop, timotei shampoo & conditioner, mccains games, pimms picnic blanket.
october wins - grants tumblers, £20 petrol voucher, sega console, iphone
novembers wins - £50 on walkers rainy day, £50 itunes voucher
    march wins - dog treats
