I finally did it! After yesterday's failure at our Extra store I tried 2 smaller stores today (ordinary ones, not Expresses) and the OEP glitch worked!
I'm not going to say which stores because I was severely trouted at one of them - my own fault, I went to a manned till as the store was manic. I picked a male SA expecting to sail through but unfortunately he turned out to be the biggest jobsworth going! My bill before all the discounts was £28 something, final amount to pay £2 odd - I was about to put my card in (another mistake - I had no cash on me!) and he said "Hang on a minute, you can't have all that shopping for only £2 - somethings wrong. I'll have to call the manager!" The manager took ages to arrive, the queque by now getting restless behind me and me mouthing sorry to everyone in the queque. I kept saying to the SA it's on special offer but by now he was telling the SA next to him, the one on the next till and anyone else who would listen. Then 2 managers turn up and he tells them "Look at this - it says Cadburys discount and she hasn't even bought any Cadburys!!" By now I was getting hot and bothered and p*ssed off so I said to the managers "Look your tills are not my problem - I need to pay for my shopping and get my son from school. I'm late enough as it is already without all this nonsense"
Amazingly, she said yes, of course we are going to let you pay (hurrah!) and we will then print off your receipt again to find out what has gone wrong with the till! I paid so quick I was out of there like a shot. So, unfortunately, it looks like that store may now have fixed it.
Having learnt from my mistake I then went to the next store, got some cash out of the cash machine and went through the self service tills with the next lot of stuff! No problems at all, but as it's only a smallish store they didn't have a lot of choice.
Anyway overall, my shopping came to £50.77 and I actually paid *drum roll please* £5.77!!
I'm very pleased with my little stash - I have plenty of wraps which are all long-dated and i will give some to my son who lives nearby to spread the happiness!0 -
Ps shelves were full which is usually a sure sign glitch not working in that store
The shelves in my store are still surprisingly full despite my best efforts over the last two days:rotfl: Perhaps it's because it didn't get very hot on HUKD?:)
I did see someone at the SS tills in St+ckt+n at about 1pm. Young mum putting an abnormally large amount of OEP stuff through with a trolley load of other shopping. Someone from here?;)Awaiting a new sig0 -
tek-monkey wrote: »Been wondering about this myself, were discussing it at work. Tesco aren't stupid, they do things to make money. They also have known about this deal instore for over 24 hours now, so head office will know. So why isn't it being corrected?
We've been through a few scenarios, but are at a loss. I thought perhaps there was some odd way to write the goods off your tax bill because they became an operating loss, but have no idea how plausable this is.
Our main discussion though was more to do with the free wifi. If you use it they know who you are (clubcard num required) and can see everything you look at online while instore. They can then see what you left the shop with, again via your clubcard num, and how what you saw online may have influenced that. Then you put a few test deals out there yourself, sit back and watch what people do. You'll start to know where to advertise to most likely get a hit from a shopper, something worth a fair bit I'd imagine
Still makes no sense to allow such a loss though, and I'm sure they'll just see people looking on here and HUKD for glitches, so we're still confused!
Makes me wonder why they have Price Integrity Managers in the stores, dunno who inputs the offers & prices but I would sack them with all the DTD's & glitches I guess everyone who blindly gets overcharged makes up the shortfall0 -
