If you've had it confirmed as working, there, go for it!

  • Gutted, just realised I cocked up,
3 salsa's didn't give discount because 1 of them was hot and other 2 were mild - doh!!
Still got £15 off because of the extra dinner kit that appeared !!

How do you work out what the Cadbury discount is going to be??

Wasn't all bad as I got to use another £5 of £25 booze coupon again ;-)

After 45 minutes sitting in the wrong waiting room where we'd been directed to by receptionist, we finally got directed to the conference room whereh her surgeon, specialist, several surgeons and masses of student docs had been discussing her situation. She had to show them how she stood up, or rather how she can't stand up, and what her knee now looks like . The surgeon asked her which of the two alternatives she would prefere - having her knee fused straight which would enable her to stand on it, most of the poain would go and she would have discomfort only; or having her leg amputated above the knee and a prosthetic leg fitted, but she said in no uncertain terms that, as long as there was an alternative, she was not going to have her leg cut off . They discussed how they could fuse the leg, but then suggested that they cast further afield to larger hospitals over a greater area to see if anyone had more experience of similar problems and may be able to give her greater flexiblity in her leg, so we agreed to that. If something else can be done, she'd prefer that to either of the current choices :( The problem is, because of her rheumatoid arthritis, her bones are not strong enough to be put back together again after the fall she had last Oct/Nov :(:(

    Thanks for asking Locarr :D

    Hi 3dogs,

Sorry still catching up, at least 60 pages behind , so don't know if anyone has already mentioned this.
My dad has Rheumatoid arthritis, me too but not so bad luckily. Anyway along with both of his hip replacements he also has a knee replacement. They originally offered him a fixed knee replacement, but after to speaking with a private consultant with more experience (luckily he got the consultation free under my healthcare insurance) they agreed they could offer an alternative. He now has a knee replacement that is pretty much as good as a normal knee, it has some kind of pins I think that allow it to still move. He is only limited on kneeling now as it still isn't as flexible as a real knee.
I don't know whether this would be suitable for your friend as it would depend on whether the existing bone was good enough to attach this kind of replacement joint too, but may well be worth enquiring about or doing a bit of google research.
I will be talking to my Dad later today, so I will ask him a bit more about it and what exactly they call that kind of replacement joint.

    hth :)
