    Morning everyone

Well, I think today might be the day for my new addition to make an appearance! I have been up all night having contractions but not regular enough yet to go to hospital.

I too don't have any Christmas decs up, have been waiting for DH to decorate my living room which was finally finished yesterday :j I feel so unorganised this year!!

Am chuffed to bits though cos hubby took me out last night and bought me a new car :j:j He doesn't trust me enough in the winter (had to be rescued a few times last year!)

Hope everyone has a lovely day x

Really hope everything goes well for you! My sister rang me first thing this morning to say she had been having contractions on and off throughout the night so hopefully I will be an Auntie today or tomorrow:j:j:j unfortunately won't be able to go and see new arrival as ds1 came downstairs on Sunday covered in chicken pox :( so am now on 'spot watch' with ds2! Really hoping for a glitchy Tuesday today lol!

I was up earlier than normal I am a 12 noon gal normally :o to get Mr 3Dogs his meds and then rang dispensary at surgery to clarify dosage on his 0ramorph as not clear at all from label. He had 5 ml before bed and 7.5 ml around 3 am, so gave him 10 ml this morning as he says it had not worked as well as the double pain-killers he was taking. I've clarified that he should still be taking the d!azapan as well, so will be having that when he wakes up, as he fell asleep 10 mins after taking morph this morning, but only after ice applied, which is the only thing that takes the sciatica pain away. The meds just make him relax & sleep, which is good, but when he's awake, he's in agony unless applying ice

He has to speak to doc again tomorrow, so will take it from there. He has had back problems all his working life since falling off a ladder when he was about 18, but this sciatica is something else. I suffer from arthritis and sciatica too, but never like this :(

Clipstrip Bargains - that was really beautiful

Sanya - good luck and fingers crossed your LO is here soon. I'm mildly jealous as I never had the excitement of things 'just happening' on their own.

After 45 minutes sitting in the wrong waiting room where we'd been directed to by receptionist, we finally got directed to the conference room whereh her surgeon, specialist, several surgeons and masses of student docs had been discussing her situation. She had to show them how she stood up, or rather how she can't stand up, and what her knee now looks like . The surgeon asked her which of the two alternatives she would prefere - having her knee fused straight which would enable her to stand on it, most of the poain would go and she would have discomfort only; or having her leg amputated above the knee and a prosthetic leg fitted, but she said in no uncertain terms that, as long as there was an alternative, she was not going to have her leg cut off . They discussed how they could fuse the leg, but then suggested that they cast further afield to larger hospitals over a greater area to see if anyone had more experience of similar problems and may be able to give her greater flexiblity in her leg, so we agreed to that. If something else can be done, she'd prefer that to either of the current choices :( The problem is, because of her rheumatoid arthritis, her bones are not strong enough to be put back together again after the fall she had last Oct/Nov :(:(

    Thanks for asking Locarr :D

It has been suggested that I should have my ankle fused but I'm still living in hope that medical science will improve in the coming years in the meantime I have to endure the pain without medication as I can't tolerate any form of painkillers. Mr 3dogs must have the constitution of an ox to have all those painkillers at least the morphine helped him sleep.

Going back to your neighbour how can you have any faith in doctors when one minute they want to cut her leg off & the next they thing another hospital may be able to help mobility! How about Stanmore Orthopaedic Hospital ?
  • Good Morning :A

Better night's sleep for me last night pain wise but the weather here is horrendous!!! I was also up spying down the road several times. Am sleeping downstairs at the moment because of the pain so I've got the dogs sleeping with me! They were none too impressed by the wind and hail!

Sanya....wonderful news!! Good luck on the safe arrival of your LO, hopefully later today :j

3Dogs I can sypathise with you. Your poor hubby! :( My Mum suffers with terrible arthritis and is on all of the painkillers your hubby is. My Mum has the same experience with Oramorph, it seems to just sedate her rather than kill the pain. She has to use hot water bottles as opposed to ice for any relief. I really hope your hubby is feeling much better soon and the docs can find something much more effective at dulling the pain, though I know how frustrating it is when it seems they've already tried everything, especially if Morphine doesn't help :(

Beki so glad you managed a bit of time out from the kids last night. Sounds like you had a blast and you deserve it :T

Really hoping for a glitchy Tuesday....pretty pretty please!! :rotfl:
