I don't know anything about rules etc or what happened last night but can I just say that last week Locarr v kindly gave me a £10 of £50 M&S which if he/she hadn't posted on here I wouldn't of seen !
Caz is collecting the other codes and if I hadn't seen them on here I wouldn't of known and they would've just sat inside my box until the boys lost them and I threw them in the bin ! I think its good to know if we have things that might be of use to some people!
Sorry tho if its against the rules !0 -
Evening all.
No T's for me today, my DD is ill againShe has conjunctivitis and is rather grizzly. Had a bit of a break down this morning, the last 2/3 months have just been one thing after another (a lot more than I have posted on here about) and I am so fed up of it. Really wishing I hadn't volunteered to do christmas dinner as that is just another stress for me.
Beki, to make things easier, a couple of suggestions. Firstly, did you know you can make roast potatoes in advance, then freeze them? Boil your potato chunks for a couple of minutes, then drain, put some flour in the pan, put the lid back on and shake to roughen them up a bit. You can either then freeze them like this and cook from frozen, or to save some time part roast them, cool and freeze and then roast quickly again on the day. Those bags of prepared veg are v useful, just stab the bag and cook at full blast for three or four mins in the microwave ( and are often reduced - again, just bung them in the freezer). If you can get some of those big foil roasting tins, that will help save on washing up. Try not to stress - there's so much to do, and it really annoys me that we women are supposed to approach Christmas like an exam, and we've failed if we don't get 100% on the sprouts!Hope is not a strategy.0 -

I was listening to Paul O'Grady on the way back from Brum yesterday and he had a very good way of looking at it...

I didn't know that you could prepare roast potatoes in advance. i'm going to give this a go. Thanks.
Beki, I've already prepared my sprouts, carrots and swede for Christmas day. I've peeled them, blanched them then frozen them to reduce the amount of time I'll have to spend in the kitchen. HTH. x0 -
