B&Q Swindon - clearance and soon to close

B&Q has a load of clearance stuff in swindon at the moment - everything from bathroom suites to power tool accessories, plumbing and gardening. Sinks from a fiver, toilets from a fiver, clearance shower cubicles, loads of paint, flooring stuff including lino squares and tiles. Basically boxes and boxes of 'junk'.

Also, Swindon is getting a new B&Q in April and so from March onwards they are selling off all stock in the old one except garden furniture and outdoor plants. They are not taking anything else to the new store so there will be some big reductions and great offers.

May be of use if you are close enough. Sorry I can't list everything - there is loads of it (but it is going fast)!

Thanks, i will have to keep an eye out then as we are hoping to decorate the boys bedrooms soon so might pick up a few bargains

Scotboy - Grrrrrrrrr, read your mail last evening at 6pm was ordered to go straight there. Bit of a dissappointment not a great deal, loads of boxes for you to search through but ZERO of your stated goods.
Asked staff what score was, for other readers this is a closure sale from now till April 2007, many other B & Q's are sending thier unsold goods to the store for selling off, these items are only packs of bits and bobs, curtain rod ends, floor cleaner loads of power tool batteries, best thing I saw. Never mind I suppose I will have to go back again bur NO RUSH.
All the major goods will be distributed to other B & Q's. The new Swindon store opens April 2007. They need 200 staff if anyone interested.

Sorry you didn't find what you were looking for. When I was in on Friday evening they still had a number of bathroom fittings, including large sinks, pedestals, toilets ranging from a fiver up to £20. Large number of taps and mixers - some were expensive but I found a really nice one for a fiver - didn't know if it would fit though so didn't get it.

They had torbeck toilet flush fittings - these are normally quite expensive (15 - 20 each for the inlet and the outlet) - complete sets for a fiver. I saw a plumber with a big grin leaving with an armfull.

The shower enclosures are not with the rest of the stuff - they are in the normal area on a trolley. Curtain poles are 75% off - I cleared most of those though as I needed 12. Lots of roller blinds at 75% off but again not next to the clearance stuff.

It depends what you are looking for - yes, there is a lot of crap, but it is cheap crap! I picked up some stuff that may be useful in the future, but don't need right away.

When I spoke to staff they suggested they were getting more clearance stuff in. So a return may be a good idea. ALso, from March they will start reducing the rest of the normal stock.

I don't think it is as bad as you made out - I saw plenty of people buying lots of stuff - it just depends if they have what you want (e.g. I got a garden bench cover for 99p and a 2-way tap-hose adapter with individual valves for £1.50 - didn't need either really, just nice to haves).

If I hear about any new stull, I will add it to the first msg. But, it does go fast so you have to be quick!!
