Excel help wanted please

Hi. I downloaded the MSE Budget Planner, a Excel document, but ever since then my view of excel has changed. The toolbars along the top all disapeared, but i was able to find them, but what has also gone, and I just cant find it, is the blank kind of cell thing where you are able to type formula's. etc H456+H457=H458. Please if anyone can help me I will be ever so greatful!

Sorry for my ignorance about all things technical and espeacially all things microsoft :eek:

    That is the "formula bar" and is found under the "view" drop down menu.
    Just tick it and it should appear.

    Make sure you expand the drop down to show all the selections available when you select view from the drop downs

    Thank you so much for this! It has happened to me before and took days to figure out what I needed to do, this time I have to confess that I only spend a few minutes fiddling around and then got so fed up with it that it was either throw the bloomin pc out the window (not very Money Saving I know) or ask here. You have saved me my temper, a new pc and a new window cos there is no way that i would have opened it before throwing!!!
