Barclays PPI claim confusion.

Hi all
I started my claim with Barclays for mis sold PPI on an old loan on 28/09/2011. I didn't have the original paperwork so haven't a clue how much they owe me, nor can they give me any idea. I received my questionnaire and send it back straight away. At the same time I did my boyfriends claim with HSBC, both questionnaires sent back at the same time.
Last week my boyfriend received a letter from HSBC confirming they will be paying the owed amount plus interest. My boyfriends letter prompted me to chase Barclays as it is now getting close to the 8 week period.
I called Barclays on tuesday and spoke to a lady in there customer relations department. I asked if she could give me an idea where my complaint was and I was told this wasn't possible.
I was advised to "keep checking my online banking for a payment" When i asked if that meant my complaint had been upheld she said she couldn't say and so I asked how much I could potentially be due she also said she couldn't advise, nor could she advise when I might hear something. I advised the agent that Barclays were now very close to passing the 8 week period and for this I was advised to speak the ombudsman. So 20 minutes of conversation to have no more info than I did before!
I just wondered if anyone else had had this problem and also if it is possible for Barclays to just deposit the money into my account without me being aware or agreeing to the settlement. I'm quite new to PPI reclaim so I haven't got much of a clue, any feedback would be excellent :-):):)

Yes it is possible.
My first claim was settled and put into my bank account. First I knew about it was two weeks later when I received the letter.
My second complaint, well so far the excuses are:
Lost
Combined with first settlement
Did not received forms back (even though I have a letter acknowledging this)
and the last call, the Barclays advisor even admitted to me she was guessing as to what has happened.0 -
Wow, It seems like they have very little idea of what is going on at the moment. Have they given you a timescale now for your second one?0

No timescale on the second one. FOS have just complained and sent a letter again for me.0
