Select is a full current account, which allows overdrafts, chequebooks etc. Basic is that, a basic account with no credit facilities at all, and limited ATM access (only RBS group ATMs)
Debt free and staying that way!

Select is credit checked / scored and available to those with decent history, Basic is available to all but the most unfortunate finacial miscreants.
