Cheapest flights to the US

Dunno if anyone can offer some help? I'm looking for some flights to the US, as follows:

1/ 1 person travelling from Gatwick (preferable) or Heathrow to Houston, Texas, for the Champcar GP on 21st and 22nd April. I am thinking I will fly out of London on the morning of Fri the 20th and, after the race, drive on up to Talladega for the Nascar race. I'll the return to Houston and fly back to London on the afternoon/evening of Weds 2nd May. I don't really have a lot of flexibility on the dates and am looking for the best deal on those dates. The best I have found so far was £295 with Continental out of Gatwick which I didnt think was too bad. Do you think there's any room for improvement or should I go ahead and book?

2/ 4 people travelling to Orlando OR Atlanta from any of the London airports, Birmingham or Manchester. These four will be meeting up with me at Talladega and are restricted by available holiday dates at work. There plan is to fly out as early as possible on Sat 28th April and then drive straight through to Talladega, so anything after a midday departure really isn't gonna work for them I'd guess. They'll stay on after the race and are looking to leave on the following Saturday (5th May). They are looking to spend in the region of £280 pp if flying into Orlando or £300 if flying into Atlanta. I've been searching online for them, and they've been doing the same in the high street, but we can't get much under £320 for either destination :s Any tips or suggestions?

Thanks in advance, I'll really appreciate any help you can offer?

Regards
Craig.

Craig A, Im not travelling at the same time as you but I spent about a week searching flights to Houston, Atlanta, New Orleans, Nashville, Memphis and the Continetal flight to Houston came out as cheapest when I was looking so I booked it. Non stop too, if you go for it let me know what ther service is like!

Thanks, Simon. Pretty much certain to go for that flight myself. It's pretty much perfect in terms of it being a direct flight, out of Gatwick (perfect for me) and the times are ideal. I am in the Virgin Flying Club thingy and they're an affiliate, so I can even score some miles! At least I think I can... can anyone confirm 'class x' is ok for miles?

The real issue right now is getting some flights for the other four. It's doing my head in to be honest!

Okay, why is it when you actually get round to asking someone else, you find something straight away?! Found some flights LGW-ATL for £298 pp on the dates they want. A little later in the day than ideal but I think they can live with it. Still stuck on flights into Orlando though, should they want to go that route. Any tips?

    Thanks guys

Thanks for that. Do you know I am sure i looked at that page yesterday and I obviously totally missed the text at the bottom!! :o

Anyway... all done and dusted now. I've booked my flight, as above, and the other four have booked theirs with BA (LGW-ATL) for £298.50. Super stuff, thanks for the help!
