My 24hrs with two strippers

Just thought you might be interested to hear about it.

I am trying to strip some old lead paint and have turned to Peel away.

There are a few differnt types so I ordered a sample of Peel away 1 and peel away 7

Here are my findings

Peel away 1 :- Went through 100 years of paint but was patchy (i.e. some areas need a second application) and stained the wood.

Peel away 7 :- Went through 100 years of paint in two applications but didn't damage the wood and was easy to apply so wasn't very time consuming.

Going to use peel away 7.

Cheers

If you had a couple of strippers in your house, surely all you had to do was to shout "Get em off"

Well I can confirm strippers are not a very economical way to remove paint!

Anne, your problem is that you need new glasses. Your mistake was to book these:

when you really intended to book these:

Well it could have been worse, I could have ended up with a couple of old chairs, Keystone!

First a thread about a pair of strippers, then one about a damp patch problem. And in the DIY forum.
