    Maybe means oil filled?
  • Oil filled rads takes quite a while to heat up but hold onto the heat. Oil free as they are called heat up very quickly but go cold when turned off.

They are electric but don't seem to dry the air as some electric heaters do.

We used a superser for years to heat the kitchen in the mornings as we had no central heating and it was brilliant - heat instantly,

Run it on 3 bars for a about 10mins, then down to one as it got too warm!

The Gas is still easily available as people use it for gas cookers also.

I recommend car boot sales, free cycle - could buy new but i'm sure there is plenty of second hand ones about too.

Would prefer over an electric heater - great to have if the electric is out!

Can't believe I didn't say thank you all for the replies.
They're a great help, many thanks.
The purpose of the superser for us is really for use if the electricity goes off; it would give us a heat source. I guess it probably wouldn't get much use.... trying to remember when our electricity last went off! But the parents are old and I'd just like to be prepared!
