Paypal verification question

Allo, quick question about getting verified, I'm onto the supply merchant info.. and its asking all these business questions; now I wouldn't describe myself as a business.. I just sell stuff I no longer need or something when I need the money. I've probably made about £300 since 2003, will filling in all this stuff actually have any effect? Is it worth the hassle for such small selling figures?
(I understand obviously that although I dont think I'm a business the law may say otherwise, is this so?)

there should be a drop down box where you can choose either Business or Individual0

It says business type and you can select the option individual, but still I don't call myself a business. Anyway my point is will filling this crap in make me liable to VAT etc etc, even though I only sell like £20 every three months?0

I think you will find that unless you actually buy goods for resale you are not classed as a business. £300 since 2003 really does not class you as a business.
If you sell your stuff at a car boot - you are not a business just clearing out things you no longer need. Think along the same lines.
Dont try and make it more complicated - register as private user.
You are only a business if you are selling goods purchased for resale, or providing a service (i.e builder etc ) Having spent the last week filling out Tax Returns trust me you dont want to go there.
You have no chance of becoming VAT liable unless your income goes through the roof.
If you are selling items you have you no longer need you are a private sellar. Thanks to everyone who posts comps :T0 -

Thats the thing though, you can't. It's Type of Business - Individual. There is no private user option
There should be a totally different option for private user minus all the blooming details ! :E0 -
Are you registering a personal account or a Premier account ( this seems to be the favoured option for ebayers )

do these ask for merchant info on registration - I cant remember ????Thanks to everyone who posts comps :T0 -
I registered for a paypal account in 2003, I'm only just getting round to validation :] Anyway I've done it now, it was just slightly annoying with all that profit rubbish and percentages0
