"Number of seats left" advert on flight

When I sell anything I adjust the quatity and price as I wish. If things are selling well I will cut perceived suppy and move prices up.
If I was running an airline I would keep perceived supply to a minimum to keep prices high, why would I advertise that the plane was empty especially if it is months before departure. If I can get you to pay £200 instead of £100 that is better for the business.
Whilst as a passenger I am trying to do the opposite.
Just need to play the game it's called .... Brinkmanship, some you win some you lose.0 -
On the booking form if you mouse over the wording where it says number of seats available it states the following
"This shows how many seats are available for your flights at the moment.
There may be other seats available for different flight dates and combinations. We may also put more seats on sale at a later date."
So I do not think you will have a case against them. It is a deliberate tactic to make you believe that you may not get the seats on that flight if you do not book straight away, but they do explain that they may put more seats on sale at a later date. You pay your money and take your chances.0
