It's a legit method of payment... but not quite as safe as paypal.

It's best to check before bidding to make sure the methods of payment available suit you.

I have responded on your other thread.

However, the reason why nochex is not the same as paypal is that with paypal you can definitely do a chargeback in cases of non delivery. With nochex they are set up differently and the way they are set up means there is no automatic way of doing a chargeback, and in fact in many cases the credit card company remains not liable.

Why? that's probably one of the most least safe payment methods going.

I'd ask for their bank details so you can do a bank transfer: name , bank, sort and account number - and confirm those details are the same as their ebay details. Much easier to trace and prove payment in the event of a later problem. However, when buying high-risk articles like consumer electronics you really want the safety net of a credit card.

When buying anything you can't afford on eBay - closely examine the seller's feedback, time on eBay and sales history. Most sales fraud on eBay is committed by sellers with newly opened accounts, sellers with numerous 1p ebook purchases, or hijacked accounts with no previous record of selling high-priced goods.

    Hi Sand Man,

Just go ahead and pay via Nochex.

Whilst PayPal is very popular, not everyone uses it due to the high costs they charge, and Nochex is a legitimate competitor to them.

    You'll be ok.

    All the best
