Friday 9th December - What small DFW things will you do today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.
Morning all,
It's Friday! :j:beer::T
& even better for me, it's my xmas do so I'll basically be working in the morning, then getting paid to go to London to eat free food & drink free wine...:D
So today's plan:-

So today's plan:-
- Brekkie is unfortunately not DFW today, as we will order in but it's a nice treat once in a while
- Make use of free water at work
- Charge phone at work before we go
- Eat free food at the do
- Drink free drinks at the do
- Get expenses form ready so on Monday I can just attach the train ticket & hand it in
- Hope OH keeps the heating on low
- OH will hopefully have dinner from stores rather than a takeaway...won't hold my breath though! Lol

Morning all, and thanks to Perni for starting us off today - enjoy your Christmas do. Ours isn't until the 23rd
.
So far today:- checked banking - dire :eek:
- fed and watered the chickens
- boxed half a dozen eggs to sell (must remember to keep plenty for Christmas baking though - I actually had to buy eggs last year!!)
- made packed lunch for work
- have lovely hot porridge for breakfast when I drag DH out of bed
- get a lift to work
- have another attempt at persuading boss to pay our bonus now not with December salary
- knit at lunchtime - need to get these Chrstmas presents finished

- drive to DS2's house in Didcot to deliver DGS (he stays with Daddy once a month)
- get a "free" dinner at DS2's house (actually costs about £20 in diesel so not very "free")
- do very late night shopping at Mr T's on the way home and look for bargains
- use loads of vouchers for the shopping
- still only one storage heater on at home

Hello
Hope it's ok for me to join in with this thread.
So far today I have
hung washing on airer instead of lazy tumble drying
started writing grocery list so I don't go mad when we shop
made my own lunch instead of buying at work
set the heating to turn off half an hour earlier at night.
Quite proud as this is only day 2 for me.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
Hello
1.
I have only just turned the heating on this Monday ( renting in a new build so its pretty warm in the flat) but before i left for work I turned it down one degrees. I do have a flatmate who is not working at the moment so the heating is on all day .
Hopefully he won't notice it
.
2.Also entered competition online.
3.Will be taking tube to Xmas party instead of cab tonight, and on the same note 'recycled a dress' for the party.CC consolidated to £3400

sort out what still needs to be bought for christmas *rolls eyes*
[STRIKE]present to friend who's birthday it was last week[/STRIKE]
tidy living room started this but don't seem to be getting anywhere

Hi everyone,
Thanks for startin thread Perni and take care Candy.
Not a very MSE day today for me either today, am driving up to Glasgow to see Def Leppard and Motley Crue tonight. Am giving a friend of OH a lift though so am charging him a third of petrol and parking costs
. Also as i'm driving won't be drinking alcohol at extortionate venue prices and will be driving very cautiously as lots of ice forcast.
Have also treated myself and ordered some make up this morning on line, cheaper than shops (plus I can't get it around here) and haven't had new make up for months and months.
Small MSE things today:
Meals from home except maybe some chips after gig tonight.
Will do a load of washing soon and hang on airer.
Walk pooches locally.
Make up box of snacks and drinks for the car and put extra coats and blankets in just in case.
Any Onepoll surveys available.
Think that will have to do for today.0 -
Hi Starnac, hope you are ok. X0

Not a brilliant DFW day today - nothing major just a few small but not strictly necessary spends, bottle of wine and bag of crisps, few pounds on lunch.....
Trying to be positive with....- Checked bank - not fab, few days to payday but not overdrawn (just) but have saved £150 into a different account
- Tea will be from stores
- Walked dog in the park
- Staying in tonight
- Got 4x £4 off £20 spends for Mr S in the post (only problem is that I can't find my Nectar card)
- Got bank statement for savings account and there's £50 more in there than I thought
- Fiddle with shopping list for tomorrow
