I managed to nab just a few days ago a Braun/Oral B professional Care 2000 toothbrush and Precision head refills (4pack) for just £22 delivered from Superdrug online. Everywhere else it was around £50 for the same items.

Unfortunately they seemed to have put the price up now.

I didn't think the batteries could be replaced?

They can, it is a pretty straightforward job, on the Triumph models the charger plug has the triangular "key" that you use to unscrew the base of the brush then you also need to remove the plastic retainer ring at the top of the brush then the internals slide out by pushing two clips. The batteries are soldered to the internals. A replacement battery costs roughly £3 with delivery (1.2V 2000mAh NiMH 4/5A Single Cell) http://www.component-shop.co.uk/assets/images/150_vp2000afp-t.jpg
When my brush could only hold a charge for about a day I thought it was time to replace the brush, which would cost around £50 so for a £3 gamble it paid off. I've changed two batteries on two different brushes so far and the brushes are working fine. There are videos on YouTube showing you how to replace the batteries too

I also ordered this one from Superdrug the other day - just waiting for it to be delivered.

Boots had them on offer in store too the other day. Not quite as cheap as Superdrug but still a good amount off the RRP, and you would get Advantage points with it.

If you trawl through the Argos and Amazon websites, you'll find that the Oral B toothbrushes are a minimum of 50% off RRP - so take that as a starting point!
  • My Oral B rechargeable to coming up for two years old now and still going strong. Heads last about three months.

Wilkinsons have them right now for about £17. Good value.

Two years?! Mine must be five years old at least! I always discharge it fully (NiCad battery, you see) and it's only recently started not lasting as along as it did before.

Me and the lady wife have been using Oral B's of various specifications for last 7 years.

I think she is on her second one and I am on third one so gives some idea of lifespan.

We tend to charge when it runs out and its full but the next time we need to use it.

Picked up a couple from superdrug with offer stacking last week for £12 each including delivery as mentioned earlier.

Only advice I can offer is wait to buy one until there is a deal on.
There is almost always someone doing a half price deal. Full price on these things is far too much money.
