As an avid Credit Card 'tart', (20 valid cards) and a Savings 'tart', 21 Regular Saving Accounts paying 6.25% (or above) is my tarting going too far.
On my desk are leaflets for Beverley BS (5.80%) Saffron BS (5.60%) and Chelsea BS (5.45%).
Do you think I should try to make a 'deposit' into all of them.

Well I have 4 Credit Cards on the go, slowed down quite a bit once the fees were introduced, but still ticking over. Have 15 Regular Savers, but nothing below 6%.
To answer your query, I wouldn't bother with anything below 6% now that rates are on the up. Where do you keep your holding account and what rate do you get for it? Mine is in Coventry First and now Ing, both at 5.65% - not worth tying up money for a 12 month period at 5.45% when you can better out there in an every day account and rates are likely to rise again sometime this year.0 -

1.
Never drop below what can be made on the highest "proper" savings account. i.e. 5.8% at A&L if you've £5000 spread around you could accumulate, or 5.7% at Icesave, if less.
Point is to make the most interest...but half 5.7% (Icesave drip-feed out) plus half 5.45% (Chelsea drip-feed in) is 5.575% at best, less with transfer delays etc...whats the point when you could leave it in Icesave for 5.7%...?
Probably, as Mary says, don't drop below 6%, as you need to make up for the money transfer delays and rates are rising....
