Happy news!

Some of you may have heard about a Bengal kitten called Travis who was stolen from his breeder many months ago. A person came to the breeder's house to "buy" him, but paid with counterfeit cash and also stole other items from the breeder's home.

Although the criminal was arrested a few weeks ago, I think Travis's owner had given up hope of being reunited with the kitten :( But the good news is that a vet had the foresight to scan the kitten and today Travis was reunited with his rightful owner :j

Nice to hear of good news stories these days as sometimes it seems that there are not enough around :o

Wow that is fantastic!!! Microchips are wonderful, and well done to the vet who scanned the cat which led to the reunion.

Good to hear of a happy ending.
This might be a silly question....but what information does a vet get when they scan a chip? Does it just show the chip number OR personal details of a registered owner?

I have no idea, but am guessing that there is some kind of warning mechanism, which would prompt the vet to investigate further. Travis was registered with the microchip people as being stolen, so I assume that this showed up when puss was scanned, and then the rest, as they say, is history :)
