Yellow box junction

Hello all,
I've received a penalty charge for a yellow box junction offence when I was turning left at Piccadilly circus.
The thing is, the video obviously doesn't look good or I wouldn't have received a ticket, but at the time this alleged contravention occured I really did think there was room for me to make the turn without having to stop in the box junction.
Obviously when you're driving you have to make quick decisions, but looking left before I entered the junction, it appeared to me that the inside lane was clear, and that the traffic in the middle lane was still slowly moving.
As often happens, I did not expect the vehicle in front of me to stop where it did and I was stuck.
Any advice would be appreciated, and I've uploaded the cctv to Youtube if that will help, I will happily give the link to anyone who thinks they may be able to help.

www.pepipoo.com is the best place to get some good advice on this one. Post on there and be ready to scan the PCN you got from TfL (or Westminster Council). They will be able to help you."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

I've already posted it there, but if I get the same reaction as the guy who posted on November 5th and never got a single reply, I'll be in trouble.
So far it's yet to have one view.0 -

Surely if you are turning left and had to stop in the box junction you cant be causing any obstruction if the lights change, any traffic coming straight on (from your right) wouldnt be able to enter the junction until their exit was clear so who are you obstructing?
This has been covered months ago on another thread and the consensus was that the op had to enter the box to see if their way way clear so appealed and was vindicatedBe Alert..........Britain needs lerts.0 -
As the contravention is entering the box junction when your exit was not clear you will need to see the video to confirm this. If it was not then you are down to finding fault with the box or the paperwork. Pepipoo.com is your best resource.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

As P T P says its entering when your exit is not clear, if you think about it although YBJ if used correctly do help traffic flow, to be perfectly safe you should stop at the entrance to the junction and wait till your exit is clear then cross, instead of anticipating that the traffic is going to keep moving! How mad would that be??0
