I think you need to speak to them.
They should notify them that they are cancelling. Insist they re-instate the policy, or you will complain to the FOS, and also report them to the FSA.
They need to realise that you drive the car for work, and that your son does not commute in it, the zonecard will help.
As to your husband sorting out the insurance, I do all ours, my wife just passes them to me as well.
I don't think she would pass them to our kids though.

Thanks for your help Mikey. I will phone them tomorrow and speak to them! Yes..lesson learnt! i have proof of the Zonecard etc so i will tell them that and hope they remove the status of "cancelled" regarding the policy!
  • Hi Rob
could you please help me with my situation?

My husband insured a car by a certain insurance company 1.5 months ago. He informed them that he had four years no claim discount entitlement from a foreign insurer.
Thе insurance company asked him to provide them with proof of his no claim discount entitlement from his last foreign insurer. My husband informed them that last four years he did not drive his own car but he was the only driver who drove a company's car for business and commuting. During that period no claim has been reported.
The insurance company agreed that he would provide them with confirmation letter of no claim discount entitlement signed by foreign company he worked for.
My husband sent out the confirmation letter to the insurance company in an envelope provided by them 3 weeks ago. And two days ago we received a letter from them that they did not receive his conformation letter and he would need to pay an additional premium (about 600 pounds) for car insurance. If he does not pay for two weeks they will cancel his certificate.

What should my husband do in that case?
    Regards
    Irina

Its considered rude to hijack someone elses thread. Especially a recent one. However, you have started your own thread so you should get responses there too (its also not a good idea to post the same question multiple times as you end up with the same people seeing it and responding to different bits across multiple threads and that gets messy).
