Google Chrome not appearing in program file

Hi, I noticed something peculiar on my PC regarding chrome; when I click on start and all programs, I see chrome on the list but not firefox. However, if I then go into program files, firefox is listed but not chrome. Can anyone please give me an explanation for this intriguing anomaly. If it's any help, chrome is my default browser, but I don't know if this has any implication.

start > all programs doesn't point to program files. It's just a folder in each profile that contains other folders and short cuts.
The programme folder for Chrome is in your application data folder under your profile. (or at least mine is)0
