Hi Guys,
my very special daughter hs spent most of last 18 months in Great Ormond street Hospital (not looking for sympathy just giving you the lowdown x)so I promised her I would buy her very own computer for her 5th birthday for 5th April, which I though would be no problem to get "off the peg" but as I bought her a pink t.v. and a pink d.v.d. player for christmas she told me yesterday that the computer must be PINK!!! Now I have made her wear pink continuosly for last 18 months(she lost her hair and I was sick of people asking if she was a girl or a boy at the beginning) so it's all my own fault! i have bought the stuff to decorate her room pink and a pink computer desk from ikea so I reckon I may get away with a silver or possibly a white one but without trawling the various stores and websites I don't really know if they sell pink ones in the UK so if you have any suggestions it would be much appreciated . because really I would like to get her a pink computer because that's what she wants x

If I told you, you really wouldn't believe it could happen!

Your chances of finding a PINK pc are slim...... But fear not, wheres theres a will theres a way.
Plati-Kote Click Here click on the colour chart & see if you can find a colour to match!! If not try Here same again look on the colour chart.
This has got to be the best paint available & is mega durable, easily found in most major diy retailers.

I wouldn't usually recommend spraying a PC, but as this is a special requirement I say go for it!! But bear in mind it will most certainly render your warranty useless. You could get around this by going to a small PC shop & explaining your predicament, they will be most accomodating.
In order to spray the PC your gonna need to take it to pieces & you will need masking tape. The key point is "NO Paint On The Components" so make sure you mask up air vents, speaker holes etc....

Or prehaps you can go part of the way,as you say go for silver then add pink mouse, pink keyboard cover................accessories are easier to find in colour:D0

This might be a long shot but found this pc in blue maybe the manufacturers could maybe help you out http://!!!!!!.com/529pz or even ask toysrus if it comes in pink, or even if this one was sprayed pink it would be very girlie.
Or if you can get a silver base unit with the window panel and put the pink cathode lights in it, might be an easyier option if thet above doest help, i have a base unit with a blue cathode and it would glow pink through the window maybe that would be pink enough and as another poster mentioned try for a pink keyboard and mouse. Try going into ebay.co.uk searching under pink in the computer section and there is a pink betty boop mouse and thats only page 1.The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
How about something like fablon or pink sticky backed plastic that can be cut to shape - then if she changes her mind later you can just remove it?"This site is addictive!"

Or what about getting a white one, and decorating it with stick-on pink flowers? You can get sticky back wallpaper borders fairly cheaply, if you could find a pink one with suitable motifs, you could cut them out and stick them on, and you'd have a pink and white computer.
Do let us know how she is getting on, won't you?
Hugs

This is a pink computer. Unfortunately the stockists are in US. But maybe if you contacted them and explained the problem, they might be able to put you in touch with a UK stockist? I don't suppose you know anyone who might be going on holiday to US who could bring one back for you. There would be import duty to pay, but as the pound is so strong against the dollar, it might be worth it?
