Hi guys,
We r looking to move in Milton Keynes area. I have 2 rental properties arranged for viewing, one in bletchley and the other in heelands area.
Could anyone please tell me which area is the better of the two?
The one in bletchley is on sunningdale way.
I'm moving from Chippenham , Wiltshire so not really a city girl lol.
Regards,
Sana

DONT GO TO HEELANDS!
Check where you are in Bletchley. If you are within sight of the big block in the middle, run (its called Melrose).
Of the two options, Bletchley is the nicer because it's near to the golf course but you'll have to put up with being on Whaddon Way which can be a little rough at night. About a mile down the road is Melrose which is a god-awful place to be.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it
Meet my best friend : YNAB (you need a budget)

Heelands? No.
Bletchley? Depends where.0 -
Hi I would avoid both if you can. I used to work in MK and had several colleagues who had really bad problems with people living in Heelands. One had moved from London and one from somewhere up north and becauae the house looked nice inside and the price was good they went for it and both regretted it. In the end one woman had to resgin from work - she was so stressed worrying about her home whilst she was out at work !! . As for Bletchly - not great either. Another colleague moved there and price of his car insurance rocketed due to the area.... there are some bits that are nicer than others but if you are felxible go to a different part of MK.0

Some parts of Heelands are really nice with very nice self builds on but as other posters have stated the vast majority of it is awful. Sunningdale Way 'may' be ok as it is right next to the golf course and some of the houses overlook it which isn't bad when you consider they are all local authority houses (or used to be).
Generally speaking steer well clear of either Heelands or anywhere in Bletchley.0 -
The places I've stayed at in MK are:
Stoney Stratford - very nice
Newport Pagnell - liked that too.
Woolerton - My friend rented a beautiful flat. The centre of Woolerton is very kitsche, but I liked it, they had no problems and the flat overlooked a park.
Don't know about the other areas, I once got a bus there, we travelled through some very poor looking estates.MSE Forum's favourite nutter :T0 -
I lived in Fenny Stratford which is on the outskirts of Bletchley - within walking distance. used to get the train in to London. Some of the newer (well 1980s ) estate areas are OK ie two mile ash, great holm, shenley church end etc. I'd like to move to a village area but prices are considerably more! Love stony stratford but parking is a nightmare. I think the ones that I was told to avoid were Netherfield, Coffee Hall, Heelands, Fishermead ...0

Hey there -
dear lord do not move to sunningdale way - its full of scum of the earth
heelands has its ups and downs but its unlikely you will find a nice area in heelands.
i lived in wolverton for a year besides the cultural devide its quite nice, and i have lived in stony stratford for my whole life. try the estate galley hill its very pleasent here and no problem parking, its close enough to stony to walk but far enough away from the madness that it can be.0
