Myself and wife visited M&S Store on Sunday. After much deliberation and trying on various clothes, I chose a few items but was unable to take away that day.
Staff promised to put them aside to collect later in the week. A receipt given. We phoned on Tuesday to advise the store that we wouldn't be able to collect until later in the week. The representative assured us it was no problem to keep them aside until the end of the week.
My wife and 6 month old daughter ventured out in today's high winds to collect.
M&S advised they had not been kept aside after all.
I had to leave a busy day in my office to try everything on again (receipt didn't list sizes) in another branch.
What a waste of our time, effort, risk and expense.
Very poor service.

You initially posted your virgin post in all bold.
There is a reason why the default character weight is what it is.
But, well done for correcting the post so it's no longer (literally) an eyesore. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
Thanks, realised that after I asked.
What is the reason it defaults to bold?0 -

Er, it doesn't.There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -
obviously just a genuine mistake. you probably phoned, girl went away to do it, got caught by another customer (you can't walk a metre without someone wanting you) got distracted and forgot to re print a new reserved card for your item - so someone put it back onto the shop floor
human error, we all do it.
i think the sob story about high winds e.c.t is unnecessary. we all had to go out in it today (scotland)0 -
I certainly hope it was a mistake and not deliberate!
In my company, we follow through with what we promise to our clients. Tends to stop them going elsewhere.
Seems the vent & warnings forum wasn't the best place to vent or warn about the poor experience.0
