One of which is a room not a flat and the other two are not even in Crosby.
Still not got any facts to back up your assertion? You've had an hour now, guess we can take it as a fail?0 -

In itself its not except in many cases it leads to one parent giving up work to provide childcare whilst the state picks up the tab. Secondly should the other parent end up unemployed they can easily find themselves with little financial gain unless they find employment at a similar salary thus creating a benefit trap. Thirdly the ability to save for retirement is compromised by higher expenses than owner occupiers or social tenants incur which means they are more likely to need state top ups like pension credit in addition to LHA. Finally should you require care as you don't own any assets of value such as your home it will be the taxpayer picking up the tab.
But hey, why should we bring on economic collapse and become a third world country, after all we're entitled to.0 -

I put the self contained room up as it was something of a bargain, including ALL bills as it does. The others are available now, in the Crosby AREA (as previously indicated) for LESS than the current LHA rent. Both flats are within a mile of Crosby itself.
I'd say mission accomplished. Wanna try again?0 -

They're not in Crosby. They're in Liverpool. It's like comparing Bolton to Manchester.
Everytime you make another ill founded statement, your argument gets that little bit weaker ...
I've pointed you in the direction of the impact assessments that will either confirm or refute your statements. Why are you so unwilling to use them, scared of admitting you're wrong?0 -

Well, no. Because the flats I located for you are within a mile of Crosby. Bolton is MUCH further away from Manchester. Even Salford is further away from Manchester. Think of it as a perfectly acceptable distance to live from your local secondary school.tomjonesrules wrote: »Everytime you make another ill founded statement, your argument gets that little bit weaker ...
I gave you the freedom to pick any area you wanted in the entire country, and you couldn't do it. Blaming me for that failure hardly marks you out as the person with the stronger argument, does it?tomjonesrules wrote: »I've pointed you in the direction of the impact assessments that will either confirm or refute your statements. I've confirmed my statements in a real and practical sense. Confirmation you seem unable to counter effectively.
You can try again if you want. Any area, anywhere in the country. Rightmove as my source. Should be easy enough. Fill yer boots.0 -

All very fine words, but we were comparing social housing and the private rented sector from a benefits perspective.0 -

Sorry, I forgot that looking at a few houses on RightMove has so much more meaning than well researched government statistics! :rotfl:
Even if we expand the Crosby area outside what is Crosby, just to keep you happy, how many LHA claimants are there in that area - more than three?
Keep digging! :rotfl:0 -

Well, as you are so keen on the "supply and demand" argument, the fact that I found ANY using only the one resource would indicate low demand.0 -
Just to remind you of your original assertion:lighting_up_the_chalice wrote: »We have a system of housing related benefits (LHA) which factors in family size. As such, everyone can afford a property to meet their needs. In the same way that a social housing tenant may qualify for larger social housing if their family expands, the private tenant may also qualify for a higher rate of LHA which makes a larger property more affordable. Those who choose to delay having children are doing just that.... choosing.0
