Avoiding ETC's
I dont know if this is illegal or just immoral, but i have on a few occasions managed to avoid ETC's by just telling the company that i am moving abroad. They then close the account with no ETC's and my partner then opens an account at the address while we switch companies. Therefore i am able to take advantage of any better deals that come out and any good cashback offers.
No company i have been with so far, (BG EDF and EON) have charged an ETC when moving out but am not sure with the other companies.
Is there anything illegal about this or is it just a good loophole?

If your supplier increases price you can change Supplier without incurring ETC's.
I prefer the truth to dishonesty in my financial dealings.0 -

I am aware that you change due to a price increase. (Good work on getting that sorted as well :money:)
But do you know if there is actually anything they can do to stop you doing this?0 -
I am not sure as I am no expert on fraud. It sounds like you are making a declaration which is blatantly untrue for financial gain.
If you don't think it is dodgy you wouldn't have asked the question.
I wouldn't risk a criminal conviction for any amount never mind a few pounds.0 -

they are not stupid, the systems create records and if you do give false information hope they dont cifas youDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
