Train delayed/cancelled?

I went to London yesterday and a trip that should take 28 min took 2 hours because most trains were cancelled/delayed due to a fatality that happend that afternoon.
Coming back from Waterloo there were no trains to my destination and I had to take a different one and then pay for a taxi to go back where my car was.
Can I claim some sort of refund/compensation for this??

yes you can . Look on SWT website on how you go about claiming. http://www.southwesttrains.co.uk/passengerscharter.aspx"If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0

Thanks for your reply, but this is what it says:
A delay to your journey
If you are delayed for one hour or more due to a failure of the rail industry (See the list of incidents beyond the control of the rail industry for exclusions), you will be given the full amount of the cost of that part of the journey.
The list of incidents link does not work.. but it wasn't due to a failure of the rail industy, it was definetely something beyond their control..
Anyone has ever claimed this and got a refund?0 -
Whilst i cant be too sure if SWT do refund for a jumper the best thing to do would be to ring them up and ask them. Easier then waiting for replie son here but I have had refunds from other TOCs for a jumper before."If you no longer go for a gap, you are no longer a racing driver" - Ayrton Senna0
