Churchill only served as PM between 1940 and 1945. The time was right for his style of leadership.

Churchill succeeded in defeating a regime which was born in a period of social and economic unrest

No camerlot isn't even the nodding dog, hold on a minute maybe he can do the nodding.

What I want to know is if they are burning the midnight oil "negotiating" to save the world why do they have to a formal banquet to help them on with their deliberations? Whenever we do crisis stuff a few "M&S sarnies" or "Dominos" sufficed.

He's neither. Gordon Brown was however a modern Canute, believing he could overcome the tides of boom and bust.

Somehow, Cameron looks out of his depth - even on the beaches before the tide comes in.

Neither Churchill nor Canute. He reminds me more of the Milky Bar Kid.
