Wescot Credit Services!!!

Options
Hi all just afer a bit of adivce, here is the back story.

In July 2007 i closed my student account wit NatWest and was informed i had to repay my student overdraft in full, a sum of £1713.00, at the time i was ony working part time and told them i was unable to make the payment and they arranged for me to pay in instalments through Wescot Credit Services. I mad the payments in full, dispite Wescot Credit Services offering me verious settlements along the way. I thought this was the end of the matter and i heard nothing more of it from either Wescot Credit Service or from NatWest.

Recenly i have been looking to get a Morgage and have been reviewing my credit record. Much to my suprise the sum of £1414.00 was on my file as still outstanding to NatWast, Defalted on 31/7/2007 and last updated on 13/09/2009.

This has had an inpact on my morgage application and is holding me back a bit now. I contacted NatWest on a number of occasions getting passeed from pillar to post becasuse they could not find any details of me on there system.

I have sent a letter to them Via Credit expert to which they responded saying we needed to contact the direct. I have now done this asking them, what the record referes to as i have paid this money, to provide the account number and sort code of the account, and even telling them that if they have not recived the money from the company they apointed to collect the debit i would be willing to pay the amount if full again and persue getting the money back from wescot Credit Services myself.

Eventualy some 7 months from my first phone call when i sent a letter to them by recorded delivery on 17/11/11 i recived a responce (sent to my parents address not the address i had put on the letter i sent them) informing me they were looking into the case and would respond within 10 days, this letter was dated 1/12/11.

Two days later i recived a letter from CapQuest Debt Recovery, saying
"You have recently recived a letter from National westminister Bank notifying you of the involvment of CapQuest Debt Recover" which i have not.
And saying there "involvment has become nessary due to your failure, up to this time to repay your indebtedness".

This morning i rand NatWest Bank and they again anitionally could'nt find any record of me on there sysem, after again being past from pillar to post i spoke to a guy who informend me that, yes they did have my letter on file, no no-one was looking into it at the moment bit he would pass it on to the debt recover complaints team, and that he had no idea who or why this had been passed on to Cap Quest Debt recovery and that he would contact them and have them stop contacting me.

So.. a few questions

A, I feeel i need to write to CapQuest myself as i have no faith in NatWest, what should i be putting in my letter.
B, If Natwest come back and say that they have not recived the money from Wescot credit Services how would i go about recovering it from them.

Thanks in advance,

Phill
