Bannatyne's gym, read carefully !!!

I'am a member of bannatynes in chafford hundred.
With my wife we've got account for such a long time.
But please be carefully when you sign in, because to cancel membership you can do it only after 9 months to be a member , and you have to give them cancellation letter - with three months notice period. And do not forget to take receipt for the letter you have drop. My son gave them cancellation letter which they lost. There is not excuse for nothing, they are only want you money to be paid!!!

But before you sign in to bannatyne's gym, think really about what you gonna do, because it is not really good gym. Some of facilities are not clean, broken. If some thing was broken we had to wait for at least couple off months, to get bannatyne's to repair it.
Facilities are cleaning only superficial. The worst one , i think is the sauna. So much stinks. Toilets mold, dumps. No antibacterial lamps is well.one of the toilet's seat has been fixed after 1.5 year, drinking water around sauna and steam 2 months...
And the really bed think: They don't care- if you will have locker burgled and your stuff stolen!!! No even sorry from them!!!
Nothing. my member ship card was founded after month at the back stairs... so if they clean up like that....
At gym in chafford hundred many lockers has been burgled. All stuff gone, wallets, money, cards, bugs, trousers, trucksuits . Everything!!!
so be very carefully before yo sign in to !!!, may be look for another gym or buy staff to exercise at home...

I used to work in the bannatynes membership office a few years ago now. It does state on the back of the credit agreement you sign when you initially sign up that it is a minimum 12 month contract and you have to give 3 months written notice to cancel. Which i always throught was excessive as why they need 3 months and not happy with 1 month like most companies i do not know.

If you are unhappy with the facilities there is always a customer comments box on site, just state on there that you want a written reply. and if nothing gets done ask to speak with the manager to get some answers.
The one i used to work out had a notice board and every 2 weeks all the questions customers had asked / faults ect were put up with a written answer from the gym manager for everyone to see.

At the end of the day if you do just cancel your direct debit, you will get 2 written letters from the gym themselves, then a more formal one from headoffice following that saying you owe them money. Nothing else will happen after this (they say they will take you to court but unless you owe them a years membership it wouldnt be worth their time) All that will happen is in the future if you wish to rejoin you have to pay for the 3 months notice you didnt give them.

Rather than making a rant bore of yourself by posting the same semi incoherent rant across several forums [which is bad manners], you could have made something of the above information and made your cancellation stick. And people on this site would have helped and told you how. But if you are happy to set your sights low and be a rant bore, that's fine by me.
