What would you do?

I've got an item for sale on eBay in virtually perfect condition, apart from the box which is OK, but not great. Starting price £4.99, being the very least we'd want for it.

Looking at completed items, most don't seem to have the box and the condition of the items aren't that great with pieces invariably broken or missing. They have sold for anything between £3 and almost £50.

The item ends on Sunday evening and I've currently got 6 watchers.

Someone has asked if I would do a buy it now (there aren't currently any bids placed).

So do I come up with a BIN price, or just let the auction run?

What would you do?

Thanks.

  • If it were me, as I've listed the item at the minimum I am willing to accept anyway then I would let the auction run. I get sightly irritated when people ask for a BIN, as if I wasn't capable of including one when I first listed if I'd wanted too.

It may just be a case that the buyer wants the item as an Xmas present as needs it quickly. But you have 6 watchers and there are still 4 days left on the auction, hold your nerve and don't be pressured into parting with it until you are ready.

Or you could ask the buyer to make you an offer??

id say make me a sensible offer , if they do make a decent one then thats better than it selling for the low start bid

did any off of the others fail to sell?

I would also contact them and say £35 plus P&P (or somewhere near the top end of similar finished auctions) and I will post it today!!
