Perhaps people are slowly realising that Tesco aren't helping them but only Tesco themselves and voting with their wallets....Story Here

  • what do they expect with so many sneaky "price drops" oh not to mention reducing our loyalty clubcard points...... i am now loyal to whoever has the best deals on the day im doing my shopping :D

  • I alway shopped at tesco's, but since they decided to STOP accepting condictional spend vouchers from other supermarkets I very rarely go there now. I am lucky as I live near the big four. Asda I believe to be the cheapest for most things!!! Also I have noticed that check-out staff in the other three supermarkets are friendlier!!!

All depends on how it filters through to profit.

If the profit does not drop then no-one will care.

Easy , don't like Tesco , shop elsewhere.

Ps will make my visits to my Tesco a lot easier with smaller lines at the checkout.

Let's hope that Tesco are finally not going to get away with all their deceit and that people are starting to wake up to their underhand tactics.

Add me to the 'Tesco hater' list. In my case, the beef isn't so much with their devious pricing policy (frankly, I think they are all as bad as each other in that respect) it's that their stock control is absolutely appalling!

I have three quite large Tesco stores which I shop in, depending on which town I'm in and when - none of them can be relied on to have in stock what I want and twice lately I have walked out and gone to Asda, where at least 90% of what I wanted could be found.

I suspect they have grown too big too fast and now can't manage the logistical requirements of their bloated empire.
  • I prefer Tesco personally, its cheapest for me and my regular shopping their Value products are much nicer than Asda or Sainsburys.

Yes prices have gone up, but so has prices everywhere else.

As for clubcard points, at least theres still some rewards, unlike Asda that dont do anything.

I shop in many different stores, none had had price increases as badly as Tesco, in addition none seem to have shrunken their products (in volume) to the same degree as Tesco. Seems to be an average loss of 15% on the items I buy with some more then this.

    Pre-"price-drop"
    Tesco Prawns £2.99 for 250g

    Post "price drop"
Tesco Prawns £4 (but two for £6!) for 190g

Now? I don't even bother looking.

    Pre Price drop
    Sliced chicken 100g £1.90

    Post price drop
    Sliced Chicken 85g £2

I could go on...? Yes Sainsburys have equally joined in but not with the same amount of items and not so sneakily! I think its one thing when they try to hide what they are doing by just not saying anything but its a whole other story when they go out of their way to trick people by saying 2this is a massive price drop" when infact the prices were hyped up to begin with just so they could fall again- only not so much.

I don't know the reasoning behind the loss in income but I hope its some form of intelligence with people voting with their feet and so sending a strong message to Tescos: don't try to rip people off!
  • I havent gone into a tesco store for weeks now....

did have an on-line oder a few weeks ago, but that was to make total use of some codes and vouchers etc...

I should imagine even though their takings aare down by 0.9% ( wish the 0 and the 9 were the other way and the dot was gone..lol..) their profits are going to be the same or even higher, as their prices are going up

The LFL sales are down 0.9% but total UK sales were up by over 3%.This is due to new stores and stores that have had major refits not been counted in the LFL.
