different quotes to switch

Can anyone help please,
I got quotes from 3 switch sites, all quoted £200 cheaper to change to First Utility

When I went onto the First Utility website, they only quoted me £11 cheaper to change.

A. If I change through one of the switch sites, do First Utility have to honour the £200 cheaper quote.

B. Anyone know how and why this happens.

I have contacted First Utility twice with no response.

The Switch sites act as *'Commision only Agents' on behalf of the suppliers, (* They only get paid if you switch via them), and whilst generally what they tell you is accurate, it's only advisory.
However your contract will be with the supplier and it's their Tariff & Terms you are stuck with.

Before you sign up with First Utility, I strongly advise that you do a web search on them and read other peoples experiences - them ignoring your twice made query is only the tip of the iceberg.

Maybe you have done this, but it is vital that when visiting a Switch site you enter your annual consumptions of Elec/Gas in Kwh - Useing your annual spend will not give you accurate answers
  • Thanks Dogshome, I did use the KWh as advised on my last bill and was pleasently supprised when all three switch sites came up with the same answers, so assumed it must be right, but not according to First Utility site. Now I need to decide who to change to, I will probably look at 2nd and 3rd cheapest to see what their websites say, and if they give the same prices as the switch sites.
