Blu-Tack alternative

Ive just about had enough of Blu-Taxk around the house - stuff falling off the walls, kids picking at it and leaving it all over the place, the stuff drying out (despite this supposedly being impossible) and needing replaced, but impossible to clean off fully, pulling off wallpaper/ paint, tearing the stuff it was holding up...
Anyone know any good alternatives?
Generally it's stuff thats going to be up for a while: Blu-Tack's great for short-term anyway.
I'm not too worried about leaving grease-marks on the walls, but I'd prefer to leave the paint/paper intact.
I'm talking solid brick, so tacks just don't cut it.
Any suggestions would be great :-)

Command do some adhesive strips with mini hooks that are very effective. They hold strongly and come off cleanly with no surface damage. They come in a multitude of sizes and I have successfully used them for many things, although they do say not suitable for delicate wallpapers. They sell them in most DIY stores.
