My daughter is flying to Sharm next week, what would be the best for her to take, sterling, pre paid card or buy the currency before travelling.

Hiya, tell your daughter to take Sterling and change it over there. You get a much better rate of exchange (about 10% more) and they don't charge any commission.
You can change the money just about everywhere in Sharm.
Tell her to enjoy her holiday!
