PPI Reclaiming from Egg credit card

I am trying to trace my Egg account which I closed in 2007 so I can claim my PPI back. However, when I called Barclay bank ( who I belived had taken over them) they stated they had no record of my account. They gave me a number, which I called, it was a phone message telling me to call Barclays ???? I have been chasing my tail, trying to get some one to help me. What do I do know ???? Please can some one help ????

I've called Barclaycard this morning with the same query, I got confused because I had got married and changed address in between my account closing and now, so had to give my old details. Although I hadn't used my credit card for years I had received a new card from Barclaycard when the change happened. Maybe go back to Egg and make sure they gave Barclaycard all account history including accounts that had been closed. I used the Egg messaging system and got a response within 12 hours. Good luck.

Phone egg themselves mine finished in 2007 but they still had all the details.

I just read this and called egg.

I closed my account back in 2006 or something and it was never transfered to Barclays by that point.

So called Egg Money Manager number (got straight through) and very helpful girl who knew why I wanted info etc said to still try wwith Barclays just in case but to write to

Egg Card
Riverside Road
Pride Park
Derby
DE99 3GG

with as much info as you can provide and ask for what info you want. I need my Ref number for account too as have moved and changed name since then.

I wrote to egg for a credit card i had with them back in 2005 (pride park address in Derby). i had the same response saying they couldnt find any details on me... so i contacted LLoyds TSB (i use to pay my CC by direct debit) and they gave me the reference number egg used when taking the DD out; Its apparently the card number... i have sent this off to them - so i now await a response! Good luck
