Norovirus in Bougnville Playa hotel Tenerife

We arrived last week and were not told anything about the virus. Within a couple of days one of our party was badly ill with D & V. Plenty of advice from other holiday makers in advacent room about what to do. Next door they have to get the doctor in and he gave the patient and injection. They advised me that the peron occupying our room the week before had the virus.
The only preventative measure in the hotel was two dispensers of liquid hand wash at the dinning room entrance. No advice from the Thomson rep!!!!! She asked for a good report on her when we filled in the survey when returning on the plane, not likely!
We asked for advice from reception and were shown an email from a tour company I think giving advice on the virus.
Any other places affected?
At meals times trays of food are being taken back to the rooms.
I am advised that old and infirm should wary of going to this hotel during this out break.
