CCJ Issues

Hey,
I just want to get a another's point of view on my situation.
I'm currently disputing medical bills incurred while I received treatment for cancer (All clear now for 6 months)
The dispute could not be resolved between me and the company and court action was taken.
All paper work was sent to the courts recorded delivery. I waited for the outcome. I received a letter saying as I had not returned my paperwork the company was awarded the money + extra they also placed a CCJ on my credit record.
On receipt of this letter i tried calling the court, the number was constantly engaged, I then E-Mailed the court explaining the paperwork had been sent and that I had a receipt and a signature of someone signing for the paperwork at the courts i provided my contact details. I received nothing but an automated response. I went back to calling the court and after 3 days of trying to get through I spoke to a customer service rep.
The representative was quite rude when i explained my situation and that I had signature proof of them receiving the paperwork.I was requested to send all of my documentation (Court case) again along with the proof of them receiving it the first time round and a sum of money to have the CCJ removed. I was informed this money would only be returned if my case was successful. I thought this to be extremely unfair as the payment i'm having to make is there fault
In all i'm just appalled at the way the courts have handled my case as well as there lack of communication, Instead of contacting me regarding the whereabouts of my paperwork they just proceed and cause this mess.
Is there any institution I can complain to about the way the courts have handled my case so carelessly?
Can they make me pay to have a CCJ removed when it was there fault it was applied to my credit account.
Why is the money paid to have the CCJ removed only refundable if I win my case?
I'm just so annoyed at how thoughtless and careless the courts are over a sensitive issue.
Regards
Rob
