Quote for New Flat Roof

hallo,

I've been quoted £1500 and a weeks work for a new flat roof. Does this sounds about right? I'm not 100% sure of the dimensions off the top of my head but its a small terraced house and the flat roof covers the kitchen and bathroom...

as you can probably tell i'm a girl and know nothing about building - so ask away if you'd need more info...

We paid £1500 for a flat roof which came with a 20 year guarentee so sounds about right. Are you getting the new roofing materials EPDM, thats what we had and we have been very pleased.

well this quote was for removing the old flat roof and all the rubble etc, and then totally replacing it with new stuff (not sure what EPDM is - sorry). Builder didnt mention a guarantee - will have to check that!

It was built in 1986 so its done brilliantly to last this well!

20yrs is about the life of a flat roof. Can you not can the roof to a pitched roof?
A thankyou is payment enough .
  • Had my kitchen & bathroom (so may be about the same size) flat roof replaced by a fibreglass roof last year - £1200.
