Private car insurance required, can i use existing ncd from company car?

HI all, i need insurance for a private car i have bought. I have 3 years no claims bonus through my company car insurance which i have use of when i like. Is there any companies that will accept these 3 years no claims to use on my private policy?

Only if you stop using it on your company car. Any NCD can only be used against one policy at a time.

When we bought our motorhome, our motorhome insurers matched my company car NCD for the new motorhome (and I still had the company car). Perhaps they did this as a special offer or something - but they have had our business ever since. So, it pays to shop around and ask.

Also, when I retired I got a letter from our company car insurers giving details of my NCD driving record (clean!) and this was then accepted by the insurers of my new non-company car.
