Tell me about it, I'm now peeved at him trespassing than being up to no good. Would be great for the previous EON responder on this thread to see if they can find out more.0 -
Hi Ian
Have to say, I'm amazed at this guy's actions. I know we place great importance on obtaining accurate meter readings but this is way over the top, literally.
You're right to bring this to our attention. We've a complaints process in place to deal with incidents caused by our meter readers. Looks as though you've already been in touch with us and started the ball rolling.
I'm really sorry you've been treated this way. Not acceptable. Let me know if I can help at all. Drop an email to the address in my Profile if you prefer as will be happy to help, although not in now until Monday.

Thanks for your response, I'm going to put in an official complaint on Monday (in writing) because they didn't wish to take any of my details when I phoned up yesterday (as I'm not a customer of EON). It is unacceptable as you say that he broke in to get to my meters, so will be asking EON for a full explanation and they will also need to advise the police of the individual so they can speak to him.0 -
We had an incident with an EDF meter reader just before Christmas.
He turned up at 6.40 pm. My husband answered the door as he was just on his way out.
My OH said " I'm sorry but it's not convenient at the moment." The reader was a little reluctant to show ID but then did so quickly and passed him an EDF calling card.
This guy had appalling social skills." Well mate" he said." I need to come in to check that you're not fiddling your meters ! " At this point my OH's blood started to boil !
Yes I know it happens but I'd never dream of doing so. We're currently paying £ 250 a month for dual fuel and we're not in debt ! We live in a 3 bedroomed mid terrace and heaven knows why we're paying that much tho obviously we're checking into it.
I have complained to EDF regarding this through customer services and have had no written apology to date.
I only switched to EDF from Npower in August. Our bills were this high with them though we were in debt for a while coz we had an extortionate bill. Our meters were regularly read too.July £10 a day challenge £ 20.05 / £ 1550
